I think this school is terrible. I have heard foul language used regularly by the elementary children. My child hates this school and complains almost daily as to how the teacher talks to the children (insulting and embarrassing them). Myself nor my child have ever been exposed to such chaos in a school
... Read more before and are not used to this. I fear for the safety of my child. I feel the school will do little to protect any child and am doing all I can to transfer my child out as quickly as possible before they pick-up any unwanted behavior. It's sad that the state allows this. Read less

Well my daughter is new to this school and the first day she attended she was in a conflict! I thank the staff that was there at the time! However,, its still going on. And I've never seen or met the principle and dont need to. School is a place 4 an education, I expect my childs welfare in the utmost

I think this is one of the better schools on the entire Rockaway Peninsula. The school has alot more control of the students then most of the other schools of the same grade range in the area. I think the school has greatly improved over the past few years. I am a proud parent of a P.S. 225 student.

* In 2006-2007 New York used the New York State Assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and math, in grades 4 and 8 in science and in grades 5 and 8 in social studies. The 2006-2007 results for English language arts are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. Math results will be added after their release by the New York State Education Department. The tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New York. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.

English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
