Our school is extra-ordinary. The teachers work extra hard to provide us with over the top education. I have yet to see the high acedemic standards of homework given compared to the other Specialized High Schools in the N.Y.City area.If my son gets 2 hours of homework a night it would be a lot. Other schools have at least 3 to 4 hours of work per night. Most of the homework are 1 page handouts and not ...  Read more

Major improvements have been made in developing the school. The school now has several PSAL team and clubs. The relationship with the college has improved tremendously. * In 2005-2006 New York used the New York State Regents Examinations to test high school students in English language arts, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics and several foreign languages. The results for English language arts, math, living environment, chemistry, earth science and physics are displayed in GreatSchools profiles. Students must take at least five Regents Exams in order to graduate. Scores of 65 and above are passing; scores of 55 and above earn credit toward a local diploma (with the approval of the local board of education). The goal is for all students to pass the tests.
