I was not served well in this school. It is probably fine for most students. The mainstreaming was horrible.

The teachers are great and they treat you as an equal and as a person rather than a child. The extracurriculars are great; everyone will find something for them if they'd like. It's great. I had a great time in high school. And now that I'm in college, I find myself exceptionally prepared

Great Neck South High School (GNSHS) is a very bad school. First, it is a mainstream school, which we all know that they are very corrupt. The reasons why GNSHS is corrupt is it encourages special needs students to be removed from their peers. That is NOT encouraging ALL students to learn together. ...  Read more

My two children attended Great Neck South High School. My eldest is now a Freshman at college and my younger child is in 11th grade. Great Neck High School has been excellent for both my children. Each child had different needs but the school met and continues to meet all my expectations.

* In 2005-2006 New York used the New York State Regents Examinations to test high school students in English language arts, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics and several foreign languages. The results for English language arts, math, living environment, chemistry, earth science and physics are displayed in GreatSchools profiles. Students must take at least five Regents Exams in order to graduate. Scores of 65 and above are passing; scores of 55 and above earn credit toward a local diploma (with the approval of the local board of education). The goal is for all students to pass the tests.
