... Read more for the children to exit. In addition to Mrs. Malandrakis, the principal, Mr. Phair is often out there as well. I was impressed that he seemed to know each child by name. As far as academically, my son is always excited about attending school. Upon picking him up, he can't wait to tell me what he learned in his studies. That is an indication to me that the teachers are engaging him and making learning fun and interesting. Finally, I have to thank Mrs. Lyman, his teacher, for her stern yet caring ways. This is the best school ever! All the tachers are nice and care about the education of the students. They teache wonderful. They make learning so fun! The kids really learn alot. Mr.Phair knows mostly all students by their first name. Its a great school!

I was very disappointed by the lack of rigor at PS 107. The preschool program only taught social skills and going to lunch, did nothing with the alphabet, kindergarden lacked structured reading, my son learned to read because I taught him how using phonics books from the public library - his kindergarden
... Read more teacher didn't even know he could read. His first grade teacher used the 'new superintendent's rules' as an excuse for not teaching kids how to write. Now he's in second grade and I guess it will be up to me to teach him because he's not getting it at this school. Read less

* In 2006-2007 New York used the New York State Assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and math, in grades 4 and 8 in science and in grades 5 and 8 in social studies. The 2006-2007 results for English language arts are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. Math results will be added after their release by the New York State Education Department. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
